Watering vs Overwatering
MDPublished
Thirst and overwatering can both cause limp leaves; soil moisture, pot weight, and stem condition separate the two diagnoses.
The distinction
Needs water means the root zone has dried enough that the plant needs moisture restored. Overwatered means roots have spent too much time without air.
Compare signals
Dry mix, light pot, and slight leaf droop point toward watering. Wet mix, heavy pot, yellowing, and soft stems point toward root stress.
